Oil Face Cleansing (Method)

This is one of the safest, most soothing ways to cleanse your skin. Many people (especially acne sufferers) believe that adding too much moisture to the skin will only clog pores, and lead to pimples. This is false. If using the correct oils, in the correct amounts, you will find that extra moisture helps clear the skin. Dry skin can lead to pimples, just as well as oily skin, so it is important to create a balance. I use this method everyday without any ill effects (in fact, my skin is softer, and more vibrant than it has ever been). Many people chose to use this method one-three times a week, especially during the winter/ colder months when you skin can get painfully dry. You will begin to notice in a short amount of time that this method leaves your skin feeling smooth, and healthy looking. I have replaced all facial soaps/ cleansing products with this method. The trick is to find the best oil that works for skin-type, and there are many choices. You can start with one, and begin to personalize it with a combination of other oils (dependent on your skin-type). Some of the best base oils are as follows (the ones with the star do not need to be diluted. Some of the other oils listed may be best used in a mixture):

* EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL:
It is rich in E vitamin, antioxidant and ideal natural cosmetic for dry skin.

* JOJOBA OIL (This is what I use):
It is added to various cosmetics and used as light sun protection oil and as massage oil. Also, Jojoba oil can soften hard skin and hair and heal wounds and skin diseases.

ALMOND OIL:
Almond oil has been used for cosmetic and therapeutic purposes since antiquity. It has a long lifespan, and is used for massages, facial masks and as a make up remover

APRICOT OIL:
Coming from the Apricot core and not from the fruit, it is considered to be more beneficial than the Almond oil, but with a shorter life span. It is used as additive to facial creams.

COCONUT OIL:
It is used in cooking and soap and shampoo production. Coconut oil offers many benefits, including the warding off of heart disease and cancer. Moreover, it enhances weight loss and has been recognized as an effective treatment for dry skin.

CASTOR OIL:
It is ideal for the area near the eyes. It can also be used together with E vitamin. It is refreshing, it reduces wrinkles and it is beneficial to hard skin and hair.

EVENING PRIMROSE OIL:
Although it is more often used as nutrition supplement, Primrose oil has beneficial attributes for skin care. It noticeably reduces water loss of skin, while it raises skin resistance to ultraviolet rays and blood circulation.

ROSE HIP SEED OIL:
It is considered as an excellent vegetable oil for skin care and especially dry skin, rosy drop and wrinkles. Also it is used after dentist’s surgeries to heal wounds.

WALNUT OIL:
It is a styptic substance especially beneficial to greasy skin. Moreover, it has been recognized as an effective tonic for hair.

INGREDIENTS/ EQUIPMENT:
Base Oil (about 1/2-1 tsp per cleanse)
Washcloth (Clean)
Hot water

METHOD:
1) Place oil on to the palm of your hand, and gently dab it all over the face.
2) Gently massage the oil with your fingertips, in circular motions. Do this for about 1-2 minutes.
3) Soak the washcloth with hot water (as hot as you can tolerate), wringing out any excess water. Place the washcloth over the face, allowing it to steam gently (do this 1 or two times).
4) Gently wipe the oil off of the face with the heated washcloth.
