This may not look the prettiest, but this bean dip is one of the easiest, most tastiest dips you could make! This is a great bean dip that I make quite often. It goes great with any 'dippers', and can be served in a variety of ways (how about rolled up in a taco? Or in a layered dip?). Either way, this is a great recipe to have on hand for those nights where you want something satisfying, but quick.
Ingredients (Makes about 1 1/2 cups):
1 can kidney beans, rinsed and drained (you could also try another type of bean, or chick peas)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp agave nectar (or another type of sweetener)
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup nutritional yeast flakes (adds a cheesy flavor)
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp Italian dried herbs
1/4 tsp dried sage
1/4 tsp sea salt
a few grinds of pepper
a few dashes of hot sauce (to your liking)
a shake of liquid smoke (optional)
1-2 green onions, chopped (optional garnish)
Dippers (crackers, tortilla chips, or vegetables)
1) In a food processor, or blender, blend all of the ingredients until smooth. Garnish with chopped green onions, if desired. Enjoy!
